1st Graders Research Chinese New Year And Celebrate With The Help Of The Augmented Reality App ColarMix!

1st Graders have been gathering facts about Chinese New Year!  We read from our Chinese New Year book by Dianne MacMillian, and ebook Max Celebrates Chinese New Year by Adria Klein. Among other things we learned that 2014 is the year of the horse!

After we learned about Chinese New Year, we turned our attention to coloring pages about Chinese New Year.  These weren't just any coloring pages, these were coloring pages for the Colar Mix iPad app! Students colored in the coloring page and then used the Colar Mix app to turn their coloring page into a 3-D interactive page.  The rockets shot into fireworks!, and then the 1st graders squealed with glee!!!
